Description
Using S35VN stainless steel in the drop point blade gives this Kizer folding knife strength and durability. The blade has a stonewash finish, and features two ambidextrous thumb studs for opening. This elegant folding knife from Kizer is sleek and lightweight, and it has a very nice feel in the hand. The T6 orange anodized aluminum handle has a unique sunburst pattern that also enhances your grip. A liner lock system keeps the blade firmly in place while it's deployed and offers easy release when you're ready to close it. The handle also features a right-hand, tip-up pocket clip as well as a lanyard hole.

I'm really blown away by how nice this knife actually is. I assumed I'd be satisfied, but the knife exceeds my every expectation and I can't recommend this thing enough.I bought the orange one. It's beautiful. There's a blue model available from other sellers, too, but nah. Trust me, you want the orange one. Okay, down to the important stuff:EDIT: I don't know why I never mentioned this originally but the blade does have a very slight, almost imperceptible recurve. It's so barely there that you can probably sharpen it on a flat stone just fine and a rod sharpener naturally won't know the difference. Some people really don't recurve blades, though, so it needs to be made clear. But really, it's so insignificant that you'll never even know it unless you hold it just right and try to see it. Moving on:* If you've watched any YouTube reviews of this knife, a constant complaint is with the pocket clip. Well, this has apparently been addressed. Other than the potential for pocket binding caused by the scale pattern, my clip is great. It's flatter than the ones from 2016, both at the screws and at the tip. IIRC, the clip is even shaped differently from what I remember seeing in those two year old reviews. It's not reversible, however, and even as a left-handed user I don't care because this isn't the sort of knife you carry around when you need to deploy a knife quickly.* There was some complaints about the thumb gimping not lining up between the scales and the blade. Mine line up fine and to be honest they seemed to line up fine in the videos that complained about it.* The action is butter smooth. Tight lockup and no blade play at all, in any direction. It's not a flipper but it's very flippable, even for left handed users.* Contrary to what other seller sites are claiming, the blade is not flat, but hollow ground! Excellent! Maybe it's a flat grind on the 2016 models but mine is not, it's clearly a hollow ground blade.* At about .5" thick the knife is comfortable in the hand. It can be a little slippy but this isn't a knife designed for heavy duty or so-called tactical use, despite how it might be marketed. Mine actually says "Tactical" on the box label but that's ridiculous. As much as I don't like the term, this knife is best described as a high-end gentleman's folder.* Fit and finish are flawless and the knife came very sharp. Try as I might, I cannot find one single thing wrong with this knife. The blade is stonewashed. I personally prefer satin finish blades and I can't wait for the day the stonewashed fad ends and I can dance on it's grave. It fits the overall aesthetic, though, because the scale finish is sort of a matte, too. Still, I'd have preferred satin but I'm not going to call an aesthetic preference a flaw because the product doesn't meet mine.* The case it comes in has been changed substantially. Mine didn't come in the giant two piece black box. It came in a smaller, even nicer black box with a magnetic bi-fold flap on the top and a much nicer and smaller nylon storage/carrying pouch. There's no belt loop or anything on it but that's fine. The nylon is heavy, it has a rubber emblem sewn on the front and a high quality Velcro closure. It's far better than the old pouch which was a wildly inconsistent digicam pattern, too large, and looked flimsy (I've never actually held one in my hand, though). In any case, no pun intended, I prefer the one mine came in. This fancy box also came inside a fancy sleeve. Now, for the record, to at least help to assure you get a newer model with the upgraded presentation box should you buy one I'll give a plug to the seller that mine came from, Mojave Outdoor Inc. I obviously can't promise that you'll get the newer version if you buy from them but they have them and I'm sure there's still some older versions with the inferior presentation box floating around out there. This knife sometimes also appears in a really crappy plain retail box. For all I know, if you order from this seller you might get that crappy box or you might get a bad apple. I'm just telling you I did not. For all I also know, these versions that come in the older box may also have a flat grind, too bulky pocket clip, and unaligned gimping, so try to get the newest version you can.Anyway, I know, I'm rambling... again. Whatever, just BUY THIS KNIFE! It is superb in every way! Even if you have to pay a few dollars to deal with a specific seller, if you can get one to confirm that you're buying the newer version, whether it's Mojave or not, it'd be worth it. At least it would be to me.
