I thought this thing was garbage when I first looked at it. It was flimsy, and the sharpening heads have become unattached to the base. I was wrong. I quickly reattached the sharpener to the base and went to work. The knife sharpener does what it's supposed to do.I grabbed my inexpensive dull test knife (before I went to more expensive ones) I did twelve strokes on the rough (A) side and twelve on the finishing (B) side and did the paper slicing test. It passed. This may feel like a cheap plastic thing (which it is, I only spent five bucks not expecting much) but this unexpectedly made me change my mind. It showed me that behind its plastic, lightweight, flimsy body, it does what it's supposed to do plain and simple. If you don't have a basic kitchen knife sharpener, get this one. It is both inexpensive and will put that edge back into your cutting set. Five stars. Not a dull knife left in this house. 4 or 5 runs through this and you could split a hair. This even worked on the serrated knives, just run them through side B alone...perfect. My husband gave his electric sharpener away after he used this one. Worth every penny and I expect I'll get many years of use from this. The sharpener works as described. I did have to pull the knives through each section more than twice but my knives were really dull. Overall I am really satisfied. I would caution whoever sharpens their knives to ensure they sharpen over a paper towel or something to collect the metal shavings and empty the sharpener over a trashcan. My husband says this works very well. It's small enough to leave on the back of the counter right next to the knife block.I wish it came with instructions or paperwork.Very hard, cheap plastic. Don’t drop it will break. And doesn’t come with instructions. That’s stupid if you’re purchasing for someone who doesn’t like to, or isn’t able to open website for every use.It does sharpen. But so do others better built. My large ceramic knife that I use all the time started getting dull. I saw on the product information that it can be used to sharpen ceramic knives, serrated knives, etc. Got it , used it, I now have sharp knives once again. My lawnmower blades need sharpening....hmm...I wonder???This sharpener looks decent but I was expecting something really awesome based on the reviews. As others have stated, there are no instructions and it arrived in a plain brown box, no description, picture or logo. I requested instructions days ago but haven't heard from seller. Thankfully, someone mentioned 12-15 times in slot A then a few times in slot B. My knives do seem better then they were but aren't like a new knife. Perhaps I need to do my knives 30 times in A.
